I was patient enough for this page to finish loading

At eternallybored.org (a website with no specific purpose, full of stuff you may find useful) there is a link named "Slow load test".

Opening it yields a page titled "Are you patient enough to wait for this page to finish loading?" (with linebreaks inserted in HTML source). The page is just a few sentences, but it is padded by junk in comments and server pushes only 10 bytes per second.

An image is inlined on the page, 15 MiB in size, subject to the same restriction, and HTML comment estimates the time to load the image at 3 weeks.

But I was patient enough for this page to finish loading!

It actually took closer to four weeks, with average speed of 8.9 bytes per second.

BTW, kudos to xinu.me server - it didn't drop the TCP connection or reboot for this whole time. The source server doesn't support continued downloads.

I lost my connection dozens of times during the download, but screen session survived, and I'm still in it, writing this text.

So, what if you are curious, but not patient enough? Click there!

Mirrors are welcome, all the files tgz'd up are here.

(note: image is rather large and may crash your browser, so I downscaled it 10x, to a manageable size, and changed the reference. If you need the original page and the original image, save any important open documents and click here).

(note 2: I have no idea what the image is supposed to depict).
